Market Closing times & News Trading

Although, hitting your drawdown or daily loss limit are the major reasons for losing an account, not becoming flat for that trading session or trading during US major economic news releases can also be reasons to lose an account (eval and funded).

Prop firms expect you to become flat (no orders / positions) by a certain time of the day, which vary from firm to firm (refer to table below). One also needs to be mindful of market variable market closing times during half days (e.g. July 4th) and close trades appropriately. I have not included that information. Traders can refer to the CME Group Holiday Calendar web page for holiday hours.
